An Israeli Soldier's Description of How Hamas Forces Civilians to Stay in Schools, Hospitals & Mosques

"...When I spoke to one of the [IDF] snipers, he told me that the terrorist had gone up the roof and faced us, holding a baby to protect himself.

The baby belonged to one of the women who surrounded him.

The terrorist knew the baby would provide him with the best cover he could ask for - our morality, the uncompromising and unequivocal morality of the IDF.

Behind him, there was no friend he wanted to protect in the name of friendship or camaraderie. Just a scared photographer trying to capture the moment when "the occupation army" shoots him and the baby.

But we are better than that!

On one of the occasions, he goes out to the balcony, surrounded by women and children. One of the women moved ever so slowly. And that was enough for our snipers.

Sasson pulls the trigger, and the terrorist falls.

In one brief moment the whole situation changes.

The women and children start screaming and the terrorists who were behind him take him and within a few seconds lay him on a door that they use as a stretcher. It was swift and impressive. They seem to be used to this already.

In the background, an announcement in Arabic calls again for civilians to leave the area around the school. The announcement, alongside the killing of the guard, prompts a swarm of civilians to start to leave..."

This is an extract from the book "OCT 7: The War Against Hamas Through the Eyes of an Israeli Commando Officer" by Elkana Cohen. It was read by Fleur Hassan Nahoum on The Quad broadcasting JNS.org's YouTube Channel.

A week ago, the anti-Israel media reported the killing of an Israeli baby by the IDF. From the narrative above, we know how willing they are to use babies as human shields and force civilians to stay in buildings with their own militants.

To most of us in the world, we see videos and images from this shaky cameraman forced to stand behind a wicked terrorist holding on to a baby.

Hamas' ultimate goal is to wage an unending war. However, the world has changed so much since Hamas took over the Gaza Strip two decades ago. And such ideologies must have no place in our modern era of global peace and advancement.

No individual or group of people should be free to force women and children to stay in a building simply because they have military infrastructure they seek to protect.

It is therefore incumbent on all human beings to seek a total de-radicalization of the Gaza Strip. The generation that created these conditions where women and children will be forced into buildings as human shields to protect military assets cannot be allowed to continue.

Thus, it is necessary for Hamas to be defeated and Gaza deradicalized. The control they have over the civilian population is enormous.
